Supplement Facts label checklist

What each check can and cannot show

A marked box records that a common element appears to be present. It does not verify the required name, serving basis, amount, unit, Daily Value, order, type size, placement, or exemption. Compare the final-size artwork with the confirmed formula and specifications; a supplier document or earlier label version is not a substitute for the product being released.

Review the entire package, including narrow panels, overwraps, inserts, and text near the facts box. If a field is unreadable, conflicted, or absent from the evidence, leave the issue open. Do not infer that a requirement is satisfied because OCR returned no finding.

Recommended review order

1. Freeze the formula, serving size, directions, and package configuration.
2. Check dietary ingredient rows, amounts, units, Daily Values, symbols, and footnotes.
3. Separate other ingredients from dietary ingredients and trace sub-ingredients.
4. Review identity, net quantity, business details, warnings, and claims outside the panel.
5. Approve the printed-size proof and retain the source and version record.
